Job offer in england English & Maths Intervention Officer at St Helens College

We are seeking to appoint an adaptable and self-motivated individual to the role of English and maths Intervention officer. The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Head of Department, Curriculum managers and maths and English tutors in driving attendance and attainment within the department. The role will include using the Colleges’ MIS systems to monitor and track attendance, liaise with parents and students regarding non-attendance and developing action plans to help get learners ‘back on track’; monitor grouping and set changes and accuracy of registers and helping to ensure all learners are receiving the support they need and working to their full potential. This role is very rewarding as you can see the progression of our pupil’s ability throughout their time with the College

The successful candidate will hold at least a level 2 qualification in maths, English and ICT. Experience in a customer-facing role is essential, along with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of the education sector would be desirable.

The successful candidate must have:

•           Excellent ICT skills and an ability to use new databases and software quickly.

•           Experience of working in a similar FE/school environment.

•           Experience of working with pupils on a 1:1 basis.

•           A good subject knowledge in English/maths.

•           A confident and engaging persona

•           A passion for helping pupils reach their potential

•           The ability to create a positive learning environment for our students.
