Job offer in england Associate Director – Digital Strategy Office at University of Salford
The University of Salford is defining a new model for higher education. Just as the University helped to power the last industrial revolution, today we are set to provide the next generation workforce that are immersed in interdisciplinary thinking, are digitally literate and work ready.
Now an outstanding opportunity exists to be part of the next phase for IT at the University as we relaunch the division as ‘Digital IT’ to support our new Digital strategy, ‘Catalyst’. With this, we are creating a new Digital IT Executive team to shape, develop and implement our new strategy and lead our team to success.
This team will support the Chief Information Officer in the leadership and day-to-day Digital IT requirements of the University. The Digital IT Executive team will play a key role in creating an environment where digital transformation enables our staff to be successful, ready to tackle the challenges now and into the future. This team will have accountability for a significant strategic function, building and shaping it to be able to deliver the digital goals.
Given the scale of change required, all our leaders will need to be ready for a challenge, resilient, able to take a long-term view and take accountability for delivering the plan. Effective influencing will be crucial, as the Digital IT division will be essential in enabling the organisational change and supporting the wider transformation of the University.
The successful candidates will join at an exciting and demanding time where you will be expected to ‘hit the ground running’, be able to adapt to the current situation and lead the change required. You will adopt recent tactical decisions made ahead of the leadership team being established and shape them to your vision for the future. You will engage, challenge and deliver to meet the requirements of our short and long-term plans supporting the delivery of the University’s vision and strategic goals.
The Digital IT division provides the digital leadership and the centralised design, delivery and operational IT services to the University. Currently numbering more than 80 staff, most of the team are located in the main campus site in Salford.
