Job offer in england Agri-Tech Commercialisation Specialist – Royal Agricultural University
Fixed term contract to 31 August 2020

Help us turn groundbreaking ideas into sustainable ventures.
The future of Agri-Tech? You’re looking at it. The Royal Agricultural University’s Farm491 – a pioneering new agriculture-focused technology start-up facility. Here, within 491 hectares of farmland available for research and testing, we provide a unique space where entrepreneurs can launch and grow their innovative and disruptive businesses.
Think of it as a hothouse: a vibrant hub of co-working where learning, imaginative ideas, mentoring and networking come together to drive the development of new products and new business concepts. Those who choose to launch their enterprises here will enjoy a fantastic knowledge and support network including farmers, fellow entrepreneurs, investors and academics. There’s also full access to historic data, research, equipment and resources to test, refine and grow their business propositions.
As our ‘entrepreneur in residence’, you’ll be key to making all of that happen as you drive the growth and success of our EU funded ‘Inspiring Agri-Tech Innovation’ programme. Your focus will be on supporting both academic and start-up communities, making sure that they can quickly access cutting-edge knowledge and helping them develop concepts, research target markets and make the most of the research facilities here and beyond.
On top of that, you’ll build a strong and sustainable network by developing close links with potential sponsoring organisations, investors, programme participants, Agri-Tech industries, start-ups and SMEs.
In short, this is a unique opportunity to use your extensive agricultural experience and expertise to make a major impact on the success of the companies being incubated here, as well as the centre as a whole. So an entrepreneurial mind-set is a must, along with the ability to develop new research and knowledge exchange opportunities. Outstanding communication, relationship-building and organisational skills are essential too.
So it’s over to you. Help us shape tomorrow’s leading Agri-Tech businesses. Be part of the future. Send your CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘Commercialisation Specialist’ in the subject line.
Closing date: Monday 27 November 2017.
