We are seeking a Tutor to contribute to the effective provision of teaching, learning and experience for students along with providing service to Clinic Clients.
Exercise Science at The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading academic programme within this field. Our teaching and research seeks to understand how physical activity changes the human body when it is growing, performing incredible physical feats, ageing or at risk of disease. The Department of Exercise Sciences brings together exercise and sport psychology, movement neuroscience, biomechanics, exercise metabolism and exercise physiology to investigate the role of exercise and physical activity in sustaining health, improving disease outcomes and enhancing human performance.
Requirements of the role:
- Teaching: Support teaching activities including demonstrating clinical practices and monitoring of students learning during client assessments, prescriptions, programme and clinic administration. This will involve being available for student consultation and marking course assignments.
- Administration and Service: Deliver client related operational activities effectively and provide educational seminars and workshops to client groups when required.
Our ideal candidate:
You will have an MSc or higher qualification in Exercise Sciences, Clinical Exercise Physiology or a related area along with practitioner experience in a clinical setting. Along with this, you will have the ability to confidently present and liaise with students in order to motivate them towards achieving their student goals.
The successful applicant to the Clinical Tutor role is expected to be registered or have the appropriate qualifications and experience allowing them to become registered within 3 months of appointment with a recognized professional accreditation body for clinical physiology (e.g., CEPNZ-RCEP, ACSM-RCEP, CSEP-CEP, ESSA-AEP (note: SESNZ-AEP is not a recognized accrediting body).
