Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College, based in China

The University of Waikato has established a Joint Institute with Zhejiang University City College in Hangzhou, China.

The position is based in China and contributes to the teaching and administrative requirements of the Bachelor of Media and Creative Technologies taught at the Joint Institute by our School of Arts.

To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated experience in both lecturing and running creative workshops with large groups of students. The role requires in-depth knowledge of digital media production in art, animation and interactive media. Knowledge of digital art and media in both Chinese and global contexts, experience of teaching across cultures and the ability to work with students for whom English is not their first language are all important requirements. A relevant Masters degree is essential and a PhD is preferred.

Salary will be in the range of NZ$70,000 to $100,000 per year (paid in Chinese RMB), dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

The appointment will start in August 2019 to include training before teaching at the Joint Institute starts in September 2019. Applicants must be eligible to receive a Foreign Expert Certificate (FEC) to meet the criteria for teaching staff at the Institute.
