The Otago University Department of Biochemistry is a teaching and research department located in the beautiful city of Dunedin, New Zealand.

The Department of Biochemistry primarily teaches science undergraduates and postgraduates in the disciplines of biochemistry and molecular genetics, but also contributes to a range of health science programmes.

The Role

A position is available for an outstanding candidate who has demonstrated research excellence in the molecular biosciences. The Department of Biochemistry has wide-ranging research interests and it is expected that the appointee’s research expertise will complement and strengthen existing research programmes. Applications in any area of molecular bioscience are welcome. Applicants with research experience in metabolism, cell signaling or enzymology, are strongly encouraged.

The appointee will be expected to establish an active research group as well as participate in teaching, student supervision and course development. The ability to attract external funding is essential.
