We are seeking an acknowledged leader with an international reputation who will help lead and provide direction as a part of the Interaction Design team to help the School of Design achieve its objectives as a leading institution for design education and research.  As an Associate Professor in Interaction Design you will contribute to research, supervision and teaching across the fields of Interaction Design including user interface design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), digital media design and mobile computing and the internet-of-things. 

The successful incumbent will be expected to carry out appropriate activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and professional expertise in order to contribute to the education of the next generation of design practitioners and leaders and to the advancement of knowledge in a rapidly evolving social, cultural and technological field. 

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A PhD qualification in a discipline relevant to Interaction Design
  • Experience of high quality research, track record of successful research supervision and teaching at the tertiary level in the broad field of Interaction Design.
  • Recognition as a leading national and/or international authority in an area of Interaction Design and an  established track record of research and consultancy as evidenced by publication in high impact journals, research grants and other relevant outcomes relevant to the academic level.
